Time for Two
A thirty-minute motor development class for children ages eighteen months through three years of age and an adult. With adult guidance children begin the lesson
with a warm-up followed by fun physical activities incorporated into an obstacle course and a visit to other pieces of gymnastics equipment. Activities promote
strength, flexibility, coordination, and jumping as well as strengthening the parent/child bond.
Our preschool program features different class lengths. For three and four year olds, half hour classes - Minis. Four and five year olds have the option of trying
Preschool Level 1 a forty-five minute class. Each week gymnasts participate in warm ups followed by a circuit which incorporates beginning gymnastics skills. At the
conclusion of each lesson, students are given skill cards to help them learn the names of skills and in many cases the skills can be practiced at home under supervision.
As a child demonstrates the ability to work more difficult skills he or she is encouraged to register for a longer, more advanced preschool class. Preschool classes of
all levels are offered mornings, early afternoons, and evenings throughout the week. For parents able to get their children to the gym during the day, morning and
early afternoon classes offer the advantage of few distractions. Minis, the preschool class for three and four year olds, has a class ratio of six students per
instructor while the preschool classes for 4 & 5 year olds have a maximum ratio of seven students per instructor.
Please refer to the following level descriptions for guidance when selecting the appropriate level for four and five year olds. The listed skills must be mastered
before a student may register for the next level. Current students will receive a level recommendation at the conclusion of each session to ensure proper placement.
